Creating a New User

Start by logging in to E-xact at https://pos.e-xact.com.

1. Go to Administration > Create New User


2. Fill in the Contact and Login information for the User



Under Contact be sure to set the user's Email preferences to Daily or Monthly for them to receive emailed closed batch reports from E-xact. Alerts subscribes the user to notifications from E-xact about changes, new features, and potential service interruptions.

 
3. Under the Login tab, create a username and password for the new user. A user Role will also need to be selected: 


  • Read Only: Access to all screens except POS. Also no transactional functions in Transactions.
  • Read Only API (a user that is only used for the Transaction and Search API), POS (can process transactions under the POS tab), and Merchant (can view reports and process transactions).
  • POS: Access to POS and Transactions only.
  • Merchant: Access to all screens. Can use POS and transactional functions through Transactions.
  • Merchant Administrator: Has access to change account address, view bank terminal information, edit E-xact Production Gateway Password, and can add and edit other Users in your account.

Once finished; press Create. Provide the new user with their login and password information.
